We haven't had the funds to do any major home improvement projects on our house, but when we do, this will be the place we'll go. Locally-owned and operated, Indigo opened in May of 2007 offering "green solutions for a healthy home." Their vision is to be a place where they teach the community about various ways we can make our homes more sustainable and also offer products for making it happen. Recent classes have included rain-barrel making, composting, and using clay paints. Products range from environmentally friendly household cleaners and laundry detergent (for several of these, they'll refill your containers when you bring them back), to biodegradable doggy poop bags to major home renovation components - countertops, flooring, plumbing, etc. It's a lovely, friendly place to visit and browse. There's no place like them in town - or many other places either. Check out their December newsletter for news on their latest products, upcoming classes, and ideas for greening the holidays.
